Although in principle all senses can be engaged, the term AR is generally used when talking about the digital extension of visual representations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AR applications expand your reality with images, videos or deceptively realistic 3D animations or objects. Depending on the application, you can experience your augmented reality via your smartphone, tablet or another display<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Computer-generated objects or models can be used as a source, as well as detailed digital images of real objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-background is-style-default\" style=\"background-color:#01a19a;color:#01a19a\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>On the order of the museums of the district of Gifhorn, a media extension based on augmented reality was developed for the special exhibition&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/www.museen-gifhorn.de\/schulmuseum\/schulmuseum_aktuell.php\" target=\"_blank\">developed \u201cfor my children\u201d at the Steinhorst School Museum<\/a>&nbsp;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-handler-einbetten\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div style=\"width: 640px;\" class=\"wp-video\"><video class=\"wp-video-shortcode\" id=\"video-1578-1\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" preload=\"metadata\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"video\/mp4\" src=\"https:\/\/ameno.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/ar_museum_video_demo.mp4?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/ameno.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/ar_museum_video_demo.mp4\">https:\/\/ameno.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/ar_museum_video_demo.mp4<\/a><\/video><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>By using augmented reality, visitors are able to virtually hold detailed and animated models of various objects in their hands.
